Indian Wells Masters 2009 Third Round Report

World no. 1 Rafael Nadal edged past Dmitry Tursanov in straight sets in the third round of Indian Wells Masters 2009. Tursanov failed to show any resistance against the Spaniard being lost 6-3 6-3. While all other favorites successfully reached the next round, former world no. 1, Marat Safin, failed to make it to the next round as he lost to wildcard John Isner 6-4 6-4. With this victory, the American continued his surprise performance after defeating Gael Monfils, the ninth seed, in the second round of the tournament.
