Amelie Mauresmo announces not to attend in Linz and Luxembourg

Two Grand Slam winners Amelie Mauresmo may say good bye her tennis court. The word ranked 20 French women won Australian open in 2006 and Wimbledon at the same year. She was reached on the number one ranking in 2004. The 30 years old, is passing very tough time and is anxious for her career. Even she did not join at Tokyo or Beijing open this year. In her tennis career appeared in Quarter-final of French open two times (2003, 2004) and US Open (2002, 2006) and achieved (her major tournaments) WTA Championships title in 2005. Another achievement was the Silver medal in Olympic Games 2004.

Amelie will not play the 2 tournaments she had planned to compete in: Linz and Luxembourg. Since my return from the US Open, I tried to practice, but I haven't found the thirst to compete. I won't rush into things or force the issue. I'll give myself time to think, in order to make a decision as for the rest of my career.

In Wimbledon 2009 she was defeated against the Dinara Safina. Her simple conversation proved that she is very serious for her career and trying to overcome weakest points. May be, her recent performance made her to pull out from the next few tournaments.  I hope she will back to the court and will please the fans with her movement in next time.

Roger Federer Favorite for US Open 2009 among Betters

Wimbledon and French Open winner Roger Federer is now left to win the US Open grand slam tournament to finish another year with three grand slam titles. Federer is always favorite when it comes to US Open as he is the reigning champion of Flashing Meadows for the last five years. Well, the betters feel in the same way too as Federer appeared top most favorite among the betters for US Open 2009, starting from 30 August.

Roger Federer became the winner of record 15 grand slam singles titles by winning French Open 2009 title couple of months back. Well, it is true that Rafael Nadal was not at his top form during French Open this year, mostly because of his knee injury. However, Nadal is still the second favorite among the betters to win US Open 2009, even though the Spaniard has just returned from a 10-week rehabilitation period following a surgery on his knee.

Serbian star Novak Djokovic takes the third place in the list, followed by Juan Martin Del Porto, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Fernado Verdasco, Nikolay Davydenko, Robin Soderling and Fernando Gonzalez in the list of top ten favorites. Well, I think, Andy Roddick and Andy Murray could also be very tough to break in US Open 2009.

Dinara Safina lost to Aravane Rezai in the second round

Top seeded player Dinara Safina lost to Aravane Rezai of France in the second round at the WTA Tour event. She has been beaten 3-6, 6-2, and 6-4 by her opponent. It was the second upset in this tournament after Venus Williams’s early exit from the second round. There was hardly anyone who could expect that he will fail to come back in the match. Dinara Safina finished the game with 17 faults.

After the early exit of these two great players, this tournament has lost much of its attraction and excitement.

However, second seeded player Serena Williams is still in her prime form. She has defeated Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova by 6-3, 6-2 and moved in the third round. I think that she can hold the trophy.

Kateryna Bondarenko beats Venus Williams in the second round of Rogers Cup

Third seeded player Venus Williams has been beaten at the hand of Kateryna Bondarenko by 1-6, 7-5 and 6-4. This defeat came in the second round of the Rogers Cup which took place in Toronto. Her opponent player Kateryna Bondarenko is now number 64 seeded player. For the first time, she took part at this tournament since 1997. It was obviously an early exit for Venus Williams. She was top favorite player in this tournament. So, her early exit means that this tournament has lost half of the excitement. However, 11th seeded payer Ana Ivanovic has moved one step ahead after beating the Magdalena Rybarikova by 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Ivanovic is one of the most favorite and probable players to have won the trophy.
