Dinara Safina reached No. 1 without Grand Slam

Russian player Dinara Safina has achieved the No.1 position in the women’s tennis. This achievement has come at the Madrid Open. After such kind of performance, she will naturally create some enemy and they will feel jealous for her success. It is sure that she has gained this position at the age of 23. So, it was too early for her. She beat Switzerland's Patty Schnyder by 6-4, 6-2. She has not yet won any Grand Slam tournament. This is the golden opportunity that she can hold title and become a top seeded player at this month’s Frensh Open. She has beaten almost all the top 10 players. It seems interesting to you that she deserved this position without any Grand Slam.
However, some top players like Maria Sharapova was absent in this tournament because of injury. Let us see how long she can hold this title.
