French Open 2009: Rafael Nadal failed to hold his fifth successive title

Fans had much expectation to Rafael Nadal. This top-seeded tennis player has accepted his defeat against Sweden’s Robin Soderling in the fourth round. He was beaten by 6-2, 6-7 (2), 6-4, 7-6 (2). Before this defeat, he had a record of unbeaten 31-match winning streak at Roland Garros. He was hopping to get his fifth successive Grand Slam to make a record in clay court. It could not be possible after he was being beaten by 23rd seeded player in a three set.

After Novak Djokovic failed to move quarter final, we thought to see another final match between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. However, it could not happen. Rafael Nadal has accepted his fate and did not loss his tear. It is pretty sure that we can see Roger Federer in the final round and his one more Grand Slam can help him to touch Pete Sampras. Let us see if he can make new record or not. You know that Roger Federer did not win any title in French Open either. Can he make it possible?
