Dinara Safina failed to hold her first Grand Slam title

Russian woman tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova won her second Grand Slam title at Roland Garros after beating top-ranked tennis player Dinara Safina. This 7th ranked player defeated Safina by 6-4, 6-2. The sad news is that Dinara Safina finished the tournament without any prestigious Grand Slam title. The funny matter of this game was that both the contestants were Russian. So, fans called it all-Russian French Open tournament.

Dinara Safina made double-faulted seven times and struggled hard to come back in the match. Last year, she defeated by Ana Ivanovic in the same ground. She made her appearance thrice in Grand Slam final but could not make any effect.

Today Roger Federer will play his fourth French Open final against Robin Soderling. He will try to get one title to touch Pete Sampras’s record of 14-Grand Slam. Let us see if she can make any record in this venue.
